Life After the Crawl…

August 4th, 2008

Hope y’all had a GREAT time Friday night.  I know I did.  Now Saturday morning was a different story…too many flaming dragons shots.  Me and Chartreuse, no longer friends.

Anywho - check out some pics on Flickr (also posted in the PuffnSip group on Flickr).  Enjoy these, and please observe photo karma rules:  only share with fellow crawlers and only post/share the cutest of photos.

2008 Summer Olympics Pub Crawl - one week away!

July 25th, 2008

The 2008 Summer Olympics Pub Crawl is just one week away!

Friday, August 1st

Opening Ceremonies will commence at 4:30 pm @ 83 Proof

(83 First Street, between Market and Mission – near the Wachovia branch)

  • Teams of four are encouraged!  If you don’t have a team yet, come and make some new friends and get ready to compete for GOLD!
  • Teams with a common theme (country, sport, era) are highly encouraged!
  • Speedos, … not encouraged! (unless you bear a striking resemblance to a certain Michael Phelps…)

You don’t need to have a team, a sport, or even a liver, to compete. Everyone is welcome!  There will be a qualification round, then medal events at each stop.

More details will be published next Wednesday on www.puffnsip.com.

Hope to see y’all there!

Bringing you the best this town has to offer…

July 23rd, 2008

No, we are not going to adopt this slogan, even though Puff’n’sip is arguably amongst the best. But this week we are in our annual luck since 14th Annual North Beach Festival respectfully schedules their Jazz on Grant event on Puff’n’sip day.

But to make it all so much sweeter, today is The Day for AGF. The man is so old that if there was a groundbreaking ceremony for Puff’n’sip, he probably was dug out during it, but he definitely was there. On behalf of all Bunnies and Bad Santa’s – Happy Birthday!

Lords and Ladies -

I have a midsummer night’s dream that you’ll be in attendance for our next happy hour.

The Local

4:58pm

Boy, it’s hot, oh, boy…

July 10th, 2008

It really is nice. Strutting down the street knees and toes naked. Feeling the soft tap of the warm mellow breeze on my face. Dabbing away drops color of “is it in you? – lemon lime” from my forehead. Wincing from the sharp tingle of the fresh sunburn. Summer time! Nice…

But for now, I am stuck to this keyboard and we have business to discuss. Firstly, congrats to LB for winning the Second Annual Bar Golf! The Masters’ Green Jacket hand off ceremony will take place at today’s Puff’n’Sip. And we collected $157 in support of Iowa’s residents who suffered from the recent deluge. Thank you, good people of Puff’n’sip!

Now, today’s July 9, 2008 Puff’n’sip will commence @

5:01 PM @ Chaya Brasserie, 132 Embarcadero (@ Howard)

and proceed @

6:49 PM to Cigar Bar and Grill, 850 Montgomery (@ Jackson)

Lotsa love,

Big Red.

The Second Annual Bar Golf is Here!

June 24th, 2008

Print out this scorecard and meet us this Friday, June 27 for the Second Annual Bar Golf! All are welcome! Wear golfing attire (if you’ve got it), but no clubs please!

Itinerary (Google map version)

4:30 – 5:30 @ 83 Proof (1st and Mission)

5:40 - 7:00 @ Voda (56 Belden Place, around Bush and Pine)

7:15 - 8:45 @ Tunnel Top (601 Bush @ Stockton)

9:00 - 10:15 @ Cantina (580 Sutter @ Mason)

10:15 - ??:?? @ Bacchus Kirk (925 Bush @ Taylor)

The objective is to get the highest score. There are 5 bars (The Course) each representing a “hole”. To score a par (+1) for a hole you must finish one drink (beer, wine, cocktail, shot – of your choice) for that hole. Add a stroke (+1) for each drink you finish over par. Ladies will be given a 3 shot handicap!

Each bar has a “Bonus drink” worth strokes (+2). You can only score a bonus drink once you have at least finished par. If you attempt a bonus drink and fail, you must subtract 2 strokes for that hole.

Winner get’s a DVD of Caddyshack, and bragging rights for an entire year! (till the next Bar Golf Tournament).

Looking straight into the sun…

June 11th, 2008

This morning, and I am thinking to myself: “One sure is in luck if one needs to sneeze this week. Plenty of sun to look straight into. Good.” But then, if there ever was a glorious week for Puff’n’sip, this one completely outshines it. Why? Well…

Firstly, BB, my little sunshine – you rock. Shine on, you, crazy diamond. Lotsa love!
Then, CC, who starting this Saturday will forever be known as Mr & Mrs CC — congratulations! Extremely happy for you!
And then, LM, who, just like our buddy Sun, never tires to radiate joy and delight - happy birthday!
And there is still more, down below, but to business! Today’s, June 11, 2008 Puff’n’sip will commence celebrations @

5:01 PM @ Palomino, 345 Spear (Embarcadero @ Folsom actually)
and travel on @
6:58 PM to Cigar Bar and Grill, 850 Montgomery (@ Jackson)
For those of you willing to commit your drinking talents to a good cause, SF-FIND awaits you!

And don’t forget – second annual Bar Golf is coming June 27th!

Lotsa love,
Big Red.

What’s covered in red and white checkers…

June 4th, 2008

..And smells like flowers? Yup, you got it – Puff’n’sip is going to the picnic today. There is a good chance of an after-event puffing session, so let’s just say that today’s, June 4, 2008 Puff’n’sip starts @

5:17 PM @ Cigar Bar and Grill, 850 Montgomery (@ Jackson)
and just stays there…

One more thing – with sincere apologies, the Management would like to acknowledge that they’ve destroyed the distribution list yet one more time… Let me know if you don’t get this email anymore. We’ll work something out.

Lotsa love,
Big Red.

On an average week, I’d be on time but…

May 28th, 2008

Long weekends really mess with my head. So do vacations, for that matter, but at least you get some satisfaction from getting used to not doing everyday things. Long weekends are just plain cruel. You get a little taste and then it’s all gone the next day. Or maybe I just need to relax more. Right, AK? Anyways, one good thing of having Mondays off is that Puff’n’sip is one day closer to the weekend. I was not quite ready for it, but – Boom! Hey! – here it is. Puff’n’sip is back and it’s on!

Today’s, May 28, 2008 Puff’n’sip will start exactly @

5:09 PM @ Beale Street Bar and Grill, 133 Beale (@ Mission)

and shuffle over @

6:33 PM to Cigar Bar and Grill, 850 Montgomery (@ Jackson)

Lotsa love,

Big Red.
